Bumblefoot treatment

I'm glad she's able to lay down now, that must be a relief to you both!

Yes, YT can be a bit funny at times.

For video upload on BYC, upload to the Gallery, then tell us it's loaded. We should be able to find it in the Gallery under your profile.

Here's how.

I uploaded 3 videos. One with no sound because my daughter and I were chatting lol. Its just a check up on Poppy. One is the actual procedure and one of how we adjusted the coop to make it easier for Poppy. I have a tik tok where i post a lot of my chicken stuff (and lots of random stuff, mostly me rambling lol) if anyone is ever interested @Bickstead

Thank you for the videos.

Poppy was very calm during the "procedure" and your husband has very steady hands. Nice job!

Thank you!!! It was a bit nerve wracking lol, but we got it done!! I'm thankful that Poppy held still (I like to think she knows we're trying to help her) and my husband is so capable! I asked if he ever imagined this would be our life when he asked me to marry him and he said not one clue 🤣

So we've been treating the bumblefoot for about a week and im not getting anywhere. One foot keeps forming a scab and it's almost as if the infection is spreading. It never formed a kernnel. It has stayed gooey pus. Ive tried getting down to fresh tissue but when I think im there, and wrap it again the next time we unwrap, its the same. Ive been using antibiotic ointment everytime. I think I should stop using it and just clean and wrap the foot. Like it needs to be able to dry out. Thoughts? Ive soaked worh Epsom salt as well. And the foot is dry before wrapping.

I would try the sugardine that I mentioned in post #2 (with a link there). I've had very good results with it on some really bad bumblefoot. I would switch to that and see if you get improvement in a week or two, sometimes it can be slow. It's easy and relatively inexpensive. It saved one of my roo's that I thought I was going to have to euthanize.

Thanks! I will do that. Such a frustrating thing to deal with
