Bumblefoot vs calluses

I have a chicken that has two scab-like swollen areas under the same toe on both feet. Same spot. I’ve never had a chicken with Bumblefoot before. The areas are soft, with no redness. I noticed she was sitting around more than usual so I looked at her feet and voila. I’ve been soaking her feet in epsom salts and applying vetrycin, neosporin and prid then wrapping her feet in case it’s Bumblefoot. How do I know if they are just calluses? I don’t see much change in the areas except the swelling looks less after 5 days of treatment. She’s moving around during the day just fine with no lameness. Should I lance calluses?

Hi there and welcome to BYC! :frow

I don't think a callous would be black. certainly none I've gained ever were. Are the black areas also soft (like dark colored skin verses a dry scab) before soaking?

I wonder if the first post in the following link might be helpful at removing those (scab) kernels (if that's what they are) as opposed to lancing..
