My hen Grace has bumblefoot. I tried treating it but it didn't work. Can you just let it heal on its own? Or do you need to do something? I've heard two things: leave it, it will heal or it's own, or, the infection can spread to the chicken's whole body, take care of it ASAP. Which is right? Any suggestions on how to clear it up?

The infection can spread to the bones in the leg...it's true.
How bad is it?
Can you post a few pics of her feet?

What steps did you take to treat it?Soaking it in warm Epsom salt water and peeling it off with tweezers is a easy way to do it.It can spread to the legs so its best to take it out now.

Sometimes tweezers may not work too good.
I personally just have a foot where tweezers didn't work.
We had to use a sharp blade to get the corn out.

I did an epsom salt soak, put plantain leaves on it, and put some anitbiotic on it and wrapped it up. I have heard of surgery, but I would really rather not do that.

If your way doesn't work you will have to pull the scab off and dig the corn out so the pus can come out or the infection can spread and get pretty nasty.
