Hello! although i’m always holding my roosters i’ve never thought to check their little feets since they’ve never limped or showed any signs of pain (edit: will now check all of my chickens regularly) yesterday my rooster was limping and would stay off his right leg and uses his wing to balance, the foot is a tad bit swollen compared to the other one and he does have a little cut but that’s kinda far from the main scab thing, could it be bumble foot? i examined everything else and seems fine, he did whimper when it came to the swollen area.

more cleaned up footsie here, i went ahead and cleaned it with iodine and did an epsom salt soak, applied some ointment and wrapped it up for now 👍🏼

-definitely looks like bumblefoot. There's good info on this website as to how to treat it. My large fowl got bumblefoot until I determined their roosts were too high, and lowered them. That helped eliminate it significantly (for me). Any type of small cut can get irritated and infected, causing the scab and pus core (bumblefoot). You can search here for info on how to treat it - surgical/natural. I always preferred to surgically remove, clean, wrap and let heal.
