Hi guys. I just cleaned out my quail (3weeks old) i clean them out every day and check them over for any issues etc.. I noticed one of them had a swollen crop. Last night they must have knocked their water as it was everywhere and the sawdust and straw was soaked this morning so I cleaned it straight away. Could this have caused it? I don't know what to do

That appears to be a normal "full" crop. Do not squeeze it, do not pierce it. They gorge, release to digest, and repeat. Again—that just looks like a well-fed chick.

Oh thank God for that 😌 I was so worried when I seen it. Maybe it looks worse coz they got a bit wet due to the water incident

Yes, I bet you're just seeing more skin, and also what's just under the skin, since those little feathers lost their fluff. It's okay, I used to worry about the same thing with my first hatch.

Birds are weird until you keep them for a while—if you look up some anatomy diagrams, you can help them better when they're sick and also avoid hurting them on accident (I've see people maim birds "digging out a zit" that turned out to be their very normal uropygial gland )

For your peace of mind, if it was impacted, it would likely be tighter than a balloon (or very squishy with no draining) and there would be other signs if that happened (smell, lethargy, dehydration).

Thankyou so much for your help. This is my second hatch, the first hatch all died in the first 3 days, I think coz of some kind of issues with the flock I got the eggs from. So every little thing I'm like omg what's that lol
