Bumblefoot??

Noticed one of our chickens was bleeding so we picked it up. Had a wound on one if its toes. Didn't look like bumblefoot so we cleaned and bandaged. Went to clean the wound and re-wrap it today and now see a second wound. Any thoughts on if this is bumble or just wounds?

The black scab at the center of the foot pad is classic bumblefoot, though still small enough that some people might wait to see if it heals up on its own. I tend to jump into action at any sign of bumblefoot having spent months and months working to heal a severe case, so if she were mine I'd give her a long warm foot bath (20 min) and see if I could work the scab off, clean out the area, and bandage.

The cut on her toe looks like a normal scrape to me at the moment, but could pretty easily become infected and turn into a "bumble." Do you know where she got the cut from? I'd check the coop/run for any sharp objects, splintery wood, etc and also check the other birds' feet to be sure there isn't a wider problem.

Thank you. That was what I thought as well. We are not sure where she got the cut but will be going through the run this weekend. We bough a salve and started that today and hope to pull out the bumble this weekend. We continue to treat the cut on her toe with non medicated neosporin.
