Bumblefoot?

This is my first year with chickens so I’m new to all these different illnesses. I just noticed one of my chickens has this bubble on her foot and every so often she lifts it up and stands on one leg (the good leg). Is this bumblefoot? If it is, how do I treat it? Is it contagious? Do I need to separate her from the others?

Bumblefoot typically forms on the bottom of the foot.

It looks like something may have poked into the skin or it's an abscess coming to a head.

If she were mine, I would bring her in and soak her foot in a warm Epsom salt bath for 15 minutes, stick a sterilized needle in the area circled in red and give the swelling a squeeze to see if it (and what) will come out. Clean and treat with an antiseptic and antibiotic topical when you are done.

What does the bottom of her foot look like? I have had one case where there was a scab on the bottom, and the swollen area on top between toes as well. There are many different ways to treat bumblefoot from warm soaks, dressings with sugar and Betadine paste, Prid drawing salve, and surgery. You can soften the scab on the footpad for a few days, and remove it, then try squeezing out a solid core of pus. But the one I had with the bubble, I had to lance the top and squeeze it as well. Whatever treatment you use, be careful not to apply a dressing with vet wrap too tight, as it can cut off circulation in the foot, resulting in loss of the foot.

To answer OP's question, bumblefoot typically looks like this on the sole of the foot, a black "scab" covering an infection in the foot. Note, this is a larger than "typical" example, IME. I'd not seen one cover the whole sole of the foot before. This is on my rooster, Rojo.
