I found my hen lying on her back 2 days ago. She could not walk. I brought her inside and have been keeping her warm and giving her vitamins. I put her in the tub this evening to get some water therapy and discovered reading others comments that she has bumblefoot. On one foot there is one the size of a dime, with a black scab and what looks like puss. and two smaller ones. About three small ones on the other foot. We have had an excessive amount of rain and there was flooding around my coops. I have been trying to get it all under control, as I am sure this is what caused it. The rest of the flock seem fine, but I will be checking to make sure.

I made Epsom salt solution and put little baggies with enough of it to soak her feet. My son n law suggested leaving them on overnight to draw out the infection, until he and my daughter can come tomorrow and do what is nessesary to make her better, but I want to make sure soaking through the night won't hurt her.

She is calmer than she has been since I found her. She looks so great full to not be in so much pain.

Welcome, that won't draw out the infection it will need to be removed. Are you able to get a picture?
I will try to take a picture in the morning. I took the soak off, i just did not feel leaving it on for that long was necessary as i was reading comments on what has to be done, but all of the small black spots were off, accept for the dime sized one. The scab was still on it but the swelling looked to be down.

Poor thing, well there's some good articles here that show what to do better than I could describe it.
