My 1 year old heritage hen, Chicken Nugget, appears to have bumblefoot.
I’ve never had to deal with bumblefoot before, and everything I’ve found online either contradicts other things I’ve read or just isn’t helpful to me.
its on her right foot. She isn’t limping at all.
How do I go about treating it? She’s friendly, and lets me handle her. She didn’t even fight me when I held up her foot for the 1st picture. Is it the same as treating chickens for bumblefoot?
I can keep her separated in a clean crate if needed, but I can’t do it for long because i have a trip planned in 2 weeks. I’ll be gone for around a week. I do have someone feeding them in that time, but it’ll just be more of a hassle if she’s crated and needing special care.
side note, but do the bottoms of her toes look flat to you? It may be related to the bumblefoot, but her other foot is also that flat.
