Ok, so today is day 21, give or take a few hours. No pipping or chicks in my nest. I had 18 eggs to start with, I'm pretty sure some stragglers,( nosey layers added to the pool), ended up in there, as well as some broke, but, all in all, they were great mothers (two taking turns sitting on eggs and sometimes side by side)? Should I wait fora little longer, end of day or toss the eggs. So bummed....

they have been peaceful, no fighting or squabbling, and mother #1 has barely eaten in weeks now. Not sure where to go from here (other than buying some already feather chicks)

Don't give up yet. Sometimes eggs hatch on day 22 or later.

I don't know if this is something common, but I never have 'on time' hatches with my broodies. NEVER.
They are always late hatchers. Every single hatch. They always hatch on day 22-23. Be patient!

Ok, so one of my eggs was broken at lunch today. Looks like one of my other birds, or bad momma tried eating it? There is a chick inside, and its moving, and it looks like i intervened before the sac was broken. I can see a little beak and body moving. The sac was a little dry. I have it wrapped in a damp paper towel right now under the heat lamp trying to keep warm and moist.

Need help! How can I save this little guy? I was afraid it would be completely eaten if I left with the other birds. It does appear they are early too so not sure why the birds started pecking at a seemingly normal egg. Since then I have pushed the other birds out to free range, and will gather them up tonight in crates so the broodies can focus on their babies, in peace.

Thanks for any advice!
