Bump above eye

My chicken has this bump above her eye. I massaged it and put Neosporin on it for 3 days. It is firm to the touch. Any suggestions if that doesn't help?

I sit possible that the bump could be a bug bite?

Thank you, her name is Chickira, she is a beauty and a sweetie. It very well could be a bug bite. I will tryI dabbed a tiny bit of cortisone on it and see if that helps, unless cortisone is a no no for chickens.

I don't know. When my one of my hens had a bug bite, she was so skittish I couldn't get her to treat it. She survived, though. I think cortisone should work on chickens if it does on people.

I'll give it a try. She let's me wipe her face with a baby wipe and dab neosporin with a q-tip, so I think she'll let me.

Probably fowl pox. Hopefully they only get a bump or two.

I think it could just be a simple cyst. One rooster I used to have, had one over an eye. It was hard and did not grow or heal as a scab would. It caused no problem, and was left alone. If it grows, it could restrict his eyesight, and then you might need to consider other ideas.

Good point. I didn’t see that 2 chickens have it. Maybe a second picture could be posted by the OP, so we could see the second bump.
