Bump/growth on duck head, flock rejecting her

Thank you so much. I have separated her and her sister (we already have a sectioned out area to keep them from demolishing my lawn any more than they already do, but bettie and dot can be princesses in that area together. I have a large dog kennel for them to sleep in, and food and water set out for them.

I couldn’t upload a video, but it is firm, but not quite rock hard, and moves around under the skin like a big marble… hopefully that makes sense.

our duck vet is booked out pretty far but I will see if they will at least look at pictures and decide on the next course of action.

thank you all again for the advice.
Hopefully you get things figured out and she gets better soon❤️ Maybe someone on here might be better able to help or offer up other ideas:)

Poor girl.:( Pekin drakes are known for their rude, rough behavior. I would completely separate her with Dottie so she has a friend who won't pick on her.
Cannot help much with the hematoma\Bump though, sorry.
Good luck.
Thank you… yeah, Frank was a sweet boy until he discovered mating 😒 I kniw this is the story with most, if not all, pekin drakes. Plus he’s so gigantic…

It has to be some kind of trauma hopefully you can get your vet to examine her. Bless her heart I’m glad you have her an Dot separated so Bettie is safe from harm now.

Here’s an update: I’ve kept bettie and dot separated, but they seemed really sad away from the other girls. So, I put Frank in drake jail. When I’m out there, they are all allowed together and there have been no attacks/fights. When I go inside, Frank goes in his jail. Bettie’s bump seems to be slowly reducing in size, and the vet agrees it is likely a hematoma. So we will continue to monitor her and keep Frank away ♥️
