one of my leghorns had a large bulge on her toe that was a little soft and filled with pus. so i thought it is bumble foot but am not sure. ether way i knew i should drain it so i kinda fallowed what to do with a bumblefoot and cleaned the foot up well and sterilized everything and made a small slit in the bulge. some thick stuff came out along with a ton of pus and a little blood. i used hydrogen peroxide and then wrapped it up good. i think i should of used a little neosporin so if i have to i will go back and put some on. she is acting like nothing is wrong now but i still worry about her because she is one of the sweetest girls. she is avoiding me now but i can understand that. i am so worried i did something wrong. the bulge did have a small black spot on it too. i don't know why but i did not do the salt bath first and that makes me nervous. i am so worried about my little girl
i got my girls at 16 weeks of age in February so i am still new to chickens. any advice or comments you ave would be appreciated. i feel so bad
