Bumps on hen’s faces. What is this?

Hello! I’ve started to notice bumps on the faces/combs of my hens. It looks like only 3 of my 9 have it rn, and the 3 seem to be acting pretty normal. They even have bright, healthy-looking eyes.

I do monthly health checks and diatomaceous earth dusting with my 9 hens…and in 9yrs of raising chickens I’ve never seen something like this. (Except bumblefoot which I’ve treated in the past).

Does anyone know what this is?? Is it contagious, linked to a sickness…(fowl pox..etc)? Or is it just kinda like sores similar to bumblefoot?

It does look like fowl pox, a virus that is spread by mosquitoes during warm weather, that lasts about 3-4 weeks. Most grown chickens recover without treatment. Chicks or or birds with wet pox lesions inside the beak and throat have a harder time.
So it’ll pretty much go away on its own? Does it typically get worse than mine are rn?
