They can get warts.I agree with it looking more like a fungal infection. @casportpony do ducks get a virus that produces warts like humans do?
The little growth reminds me a little of a wart. But didn’t know if that’s possible.
My boys always have some sort of fungus somewhere. I either put iodine on it, or monistat. I also like buying the little yeast infection inserts or ovules because they are higher concentrations of anti-fungals.i was also thinking wart

Another alternative for yeast specifically, is grapefruit seed extract. It’s not the grapefruit seed per se but preservatives in it that kill yeast. At least that is my understanding. That would be found at your local health food store. I would try something for fungus, athletes foot/jock itch.
will do!
unfortunately i blindly went around the market and some pharmacies today looking for blue kote and didnt realise until i arrived home that they werent available in australia. are there perhaps any other recommended brands? ill be visiting a few clinics over the next few days hoping i can get second opinions and seeing if they have anything useful readily available.
also the poor little bugger was found scratching at it earlier today causing it to partially rip off. it seems like each lump is anchored down on its own (kinda like a group of mushrooms) and that by taking one off, you can see a bit of blood and his raw bill underneath.
since it was still attached, i didnt want to risk the chance of hurting him by removing the loose section completely or allowing for more germs to get inside so i let it be. should i have removed it? and do you think using a bit of sea salt spray would help clean the area?
Did you ever find out what the pimples are? I noticed last night that one of my drakes has one on his bill.Hiya,
so one of my two ducks which i have been raising for almost 4 years suddenly started to grow/gain bumps on his bill a while ago. originally it started as a small bump (the one on the right) and i brushed it off as some sort of trauma from rummaging around in the backyard, shortly after a second one (the left) appeared. all seemed normal for a few weeks or months (i wasnt keeping track due to the hectic season) but today, i noticed a sudden and large change, the one on the right which had originally appeared first suddenly started to grow many mini bumps instead of remaining as just the one large.
i was wondering if anybody has seen or experienced something like this? im worried it might be some kind of infection and i want to be able to stop it before it grows again. my other duck does not have this issue whatsoever and i dont know how to approach this as its my first time raising ducks or any animal for that matter; despite being 4 years in haha. (also sorry for the terrible photo, he just wouldnt remain still in front of my camera)
thanks!
