Bumps on surface near crop?

I have had chicks now for a grand total of three days. Today when I was holding the 6 week old Olive Egger, I felt bumps where her crop would be, but they feel like they are on the surface. I couldn't get a good look, because when I started to poke around she tried to peck at my fingers - and as I said I've had chicks for three days - so I let her down. Then I came in and googled it - and now I'm worried that she might have impacted crop? I had been throwing some grass clippings in not realizing that would be a problem - thinking that the dirt in the run would give enough grit for a small amount of grass. It doesn't look distended, I just felt it with my fingers, and as I said, it felt like they were on the surface of the skin. Could I be feeling something else?

It is pretty easy to feel the little crumbles of feed or what ever else they have been eating in their crops at this age. Impacted crop is a hard mass and the crop is enlarged.
