hi everyone I’m hoping to get some advice and quick if at all possible I have a CoOp of about 10 chickens before I went to work this morning. I looked at them and they all looked fine when I came home. I noticed that my Milly was puffed up and looking pale, and when I picked her up and felt her crop, it felt like it was full of sand like even just to the minor touch I could feel course and grit. I did see one bloody poop yesterday and I haven’t seen any anymore. I had put cord in the water just because I was worried because we’ve had a coccidiosis problem, but I just don’t feel like that is this I feel like something is growing on in her crop or maybe it’s impacted I will attach pictures of all the things I just talked about, but I am just wondering if somebody Has experience with this and if they can tell me how to help her crop

Has Milly been laying any eggs recently? Her tail being down could mean that she is having a reproductive problem, or that she is just feeling ill. If you have any coconut oil, you could slightly chill a tsp and cut it into small pieces for her to peck and eat. Then massage her crop downward several times a day. Recheck her crop in the early morning each day to see if it is emptying. Have you seen her eating sand? Treating with Corid is fine. Make sure that she is pooping.

She was eating totally fine yesterday running to food and water today. When I went out to check I noticed her by herself tail down. They are not old enough to lay eggs yet so I’m thinking not a reproductive problem. I’m thinking she feels not well. She’s also very pale

Correction yesterday she was eating and drinking today. I kinda had to force the drinking. I haven’t particularly seen her eating sand the times that I was out there today. I haven’t seen her eat.

How old is she? The dosage of Corid I recommend is 2 tsp of the liquid Corid, or 1.5 tsp of the powder per gallon of water for 5 days. Treat all birds. Look her over for any lice or mites.
