sorry if this has been posted by others. Our Hens just started laying on or about Dec 14. OVer the past couple days I have noticed that one girl is laying a brown egg with little bumps on it, sort of like deposits of calcium or something.. Any thoughts? Also is worming once every six monthes enough for hens that LOVE snails and slugs??!!
thanks for all your expertise.

I can answer the part about the bumpy eggs for sure. It's calcium deposits, excess calcium. Normal. Got one today myself and my older girls are almost 3 years old. It happens from time to time.

I don't know that I would worm every 6 months, no matter what my hens loved to eat. I free range my two flocks and I worm once a year with a broad spectrum wormer. Chickens, like other animals, can handle a low worm count just fine. Worming is hard on their bodies and I wouldn't want to overdo it.
