I have a Rhode Island Red hen who lays similar eggs in the spring. She is 3 years old, and I feed her feed with occasional grains. I noticed that when I start giving them the lawn greens, she stops having this problem. Maybe mine should be given calcium, but is seems to go away after she gets the grass and weed clippings. Maybe it's another mineral. Maybe they get something good from the bugs in it... I don't know. The interior of the egg is fine, so I keep them for home use. I am still not sure which hen it is, since my hens all lay together, no matter how many boxes they have. I've only narrowed it down to four...
