Burbon red turkey poult question??

I bought a pair of turkeys tonight and the crate said red turkeys . The poults are more of a buff color , is that usual ! Do they darken with age ?

They had a huge br Tom there and he was a dark red

Yes, they are very light when young. The red will darken considerably with age. Here are our Bourbon Red poults with our Cuckoo Marans chicks.
