Burgandy Faverolles

Thanks I tried and even sent one PM , but no responce as of yet .They have a Mahogany one out here , but it's not as dark as the ones I've seen pictures of here on BYC.

A lot of BYC pics are often of hatchery birds who naturally aren't as dark as they should be.

Pretty sure you mean Mahogany.

Sandhill Preservation in Iowa and Buck Creek Chickens here on BYC have them. But they're in the US. I'd ask on the fav thread. There are several long-time, well known breeders who check in on that thread, and they may know of a source in Canada for you.

Can you be more specific?? Lots of Fav breeders could offer information on the Mahoganies, not just the ones that actively breed them.

looking at how the "' Burgandy Color "" came about , what was done to create this beautiful variation from the Salmon color .I realize that it's not a recognized Faverolle in the book of standards , but I think it should be .Yes we don't have this color here and Yes it is sad , but sometimes it is enough to learn as much as you can about them and enjoy there photos .Like I said I just want to learn !

So I am thinking that you are talking about the red salmons, not the mahoganies, right? Where they still have the straw hackles and the body is red instead of black??
