Hi guys!
One of my bluebells has had a soft shelled egg burst inside of her! Had chucks for a few years now but never had this happen - I say this, I probably have but never caught it early enough! I caught it this time with the shell still whole ish inside her. Had much experience in removing soft shells, eggs etc from inside but never had anything left in eg yolk! This time the egg burst the white followed and then some yolk, think she is pretty much empty but just wondering if u guys had any ideas if I should just see how she goes now egg is out?? Or if antibiotics r worth a go preventatively? She is a ok in herself, eating drinking running around and being her usual self, I only noticed a problem coz she had a peck mark on her bum n then noticed the slightly odd smell! Pure luck more than anything. Would she have passed the egg on her own or have I done the right thing? I feed plenty of oyster shell etc so not much reason to be laying soft shell!!
Thanks in advance!
