Bury wire around run/pen

I've been building my run/pen for my coop 20' by 26' and been reading about putting the wire in the ground. That's a lot of digging. Can't I just lay in flat on the ground and lay big rocks around the out side.

If you don't cover it with at least SOME dirt and plant grass seed, the predator will know where to begin digging to go under it..

I didn't think of that, Thanks, I'll just throw some loose dirt on top and some grass seed. That's a lot better then digging.

It *is* a lot of work but you'll sleep better. Pics in link below.
I hope you're using hardware cloth, not chicken wire.
Not worth the trouble unless you invest in hardware cloth with 1/2" squares...

The digging is definitely worth it in keeping the predators at bay.
