Ok, so.. lol Had a lot of rain last night/this morning. The new chicken pen was a soggy, nasty mud-pit! *sigh*
I seen 3 eggs in the little temporary nesting box. A little later, I came back with some wood and straw,
to give them clean area to walk on, and only one egg was in the box!
The other two were outside the box, one was about 4 ft. from the box, partially buried in mud!! lol
What gives?

You might have had a hen in the nesting scratching around. I know when my hens lay they scratch around for about 5 min and they might have knocked the eggs out.
