But frogs arent scary.......

You can definitly tell the diffrence between cane toads and banjo frogs.
Thats one of the biggest things i hated about living in cairns, darn cane toads were everywhere, and they can poison your pets if they chew on them.
Your down in Vic right? Ithink both eastern and southern banjos are down there from what i remember.... did you notice any colour on it? like blue or orange?

No blue or orange. I have looked at pics but cant see anything like in under frogs from Victoria, So i will try toads now. It was covered in dirt too, so made it hard to see what colour it really was.

Maybe post the pic you took? We dont get alot of Frogs comming into the wildlife shelter here but we still had to do they training and all that, i might be able to help ID it for you.

ok.. so here it is.. It is very dirty and colours did look a little nicer once it was in an inch of water. PLEASE dont tell me it is a cane toad!

Is that what he looked like after he got a bit cleaner?
The blue tinges on the legs and sides can vary from very dull to very vibrant..

Now if I only could have picked him up, and asked him to smile for the camera.... That guy looks cute. And yes a little like what I found today. My daughter did say he had a little blue tinge to him once he was wet... I wasnt so much looking at colour...as making sure he still had all his feet and toes.

I have looked at about 100 cane toad phots trying to convince myself it wasnt one.

At least I can sleep now knowing I didnt allow the release of a cane toad.

Thanks xxSonja

Glad i could help

Dont worry too much about cane toads down your way, they are there but are fairly rare for now, hopefully they will not get any more popular.

First pic looks like a toad.

2nd pic looks like a frog.

Next you are going to tell me they are marsupials.

I certainly wouldnt have been afraid and screamed at the sight of a marsupial....... They are furry and cute..

This things just sat there half covered in dirt. It did jump however...maybe it thought it was a kangaroo.
