I am just about to leave for work, but all I really wanna do is stay home and watch my chickens.

That's all I have to say, and I figured only BYCers would be able to empathize.

I would totally call in, had planned to take today off, but I had to take a sick day on Tuesday so cant really miss another day this week as I already have stuff to catch up on......

Oh do I feel your pain! I recently had to return to work after a few years of an attempt at retiring. It didn't work out too well on the finances, LOL so back to work I had to go! I got SO used to hanging out in the coop all day, I miss sitting with my birds and that is all I really want to do instead of drag my old body to work!!

....there is NO way I would be going to work today if a fresh batch of babies just arrived at my door!!

Sad part is I'm a teacher. Love my kids, but my chickens are so much better behaved.

I totally get it. I enjoyed working much of my life, but as we age, we get to a point in life when we turn toward our own lives and they become more important. At least this is how it went for me. Some folks can go head strong at their job until the end, me, I just want to enjoy my own stuff and life before I croak. LOL
