Butler Quail

TASTE? --- A BOB IS A BOB IS A BOB.... JUST AS A COTURNIX IS A COTURNIX IS A COTURNIX... NOW BOBS HAVE AN ABSOLUTE "TO DIE FOR" FLAVOR, NOT MANY THINGS LIKE IT EXCEPT MAYBE PARTRIDGE.

I'LL BE HATCHING A BATCH IN OUR SEPTEMBER HATCHALONG

THEY WILL BE PLACED IN THE GROWOUT PEN RIGHT NEXT TO THE BATCH THATS HATCHING NOW AND JUST DOWN FROM THE BATCH THAT HATCHED A MONTH AGO

I have kept the standard Northern Bobwhite, the Tennessee Red Bobs and the Butler Bobs. By far the Butlers are the easiest to deal with. I have found that the Northern Bobs are a more nervous bird and they are smaller. The Tennessee Reds are more aggressive, alteast mine are and the Butlers tend to be slower to panic and are a bit smarter. I have a bred few Northern mixed with the Butler birds and all I ever got is a nervous big bird. LOL So if you are going with Bobs, I highly recommend the Butlers. And if you raise them yourself from hatch, they can be quite tame. They will readily eat out of your hand if you work with them enough.
