I was thinking maybe Plexiglas sliding doors, then cut out vents on the sides/back, or use hardware cloth. I haven't really decided yet lol.

I was actually eyeing a set of shelves the other day with a similar thought about cages. I decided against it, though. The cleaning part was an issue. I didn't want to be freaking out the other birds while cleaning cages of those above them or below them.

I think I may have decided on a door design. I am going to see if I can find a larger zipper, staple one side to the shelf and sew the other side to some hardware cloth or screen of some sort and have a zipper door...

I made several breeder cages out of a old chest of drawers like that one in the picture. Use a jig saw cut out the wood back and replace with wire. Use cookie sheets and line with newspaper under each Draw shelf attach molding trim so they can slide. Or you can buy a roll of roofing sheet metal make your own and bend them. Use hardware cloth above each cookie sheet so there wont be any mess and all droppings will fall through to the cookie sheets. For the floor use hardware cloth wire on outside and use cage springs for each door. http://www.quailsupply.com/Finger-Loop-Spring-Door-Lock-10486QS.htm
