I have one similar to this one, it's a hen. This one also looks like a hen to me.

That's the chick from the back corner? It looks red breasted too, but something is going on with the pattern indeed.. Turning into a male? Or not done getting its true colors? Or just going to have a strange pattern?

@DK newbie Just thought I'd show off how nice these little ones are feathering up. The two darker ones are now starting to get black lines on their bibs, red vent feathers and blue breast feathers so I'm sure they are both male. I think the smaller one of these two is female, but still no idea about the grey and black!

Hey I'm pretty inexperienced but I do have a picture of my button when he was a chick maybe it'll help? The two chick pictures are the black/red male. I got the tan/black female one as an adult so I don't have any pics of her as a chick. I think two of your buttons look like they have the same as mine!
