i have a female button who when she first began laying eggs (at about 20 weeks old) was laying light blue/white she layed about 3 then began laying normal brown eggs then suddenly she layed the light blue/white oens again the more she layed the whiter they got untill now they are like tiny store bought chicken eggs!
she gets a whole cuttle bone kept in the cage at all times so she can peck it as she pleases
the shells of the eggs are not to thick or thin (even hatched 4 pure white chicks from 4 of them which i found ironic)

heres a picture of one of them next to another buttons normal brown egg
the white eggs apre spotless also so im wondering is this normal?

I had a button quail hen do the same thing last year, I suppose it's normal. She started with these blueish eggs then went to white eggs. I put the eggs in the incubator but none of the white ones hatched, I was a little disappointed. But the white eggs seem fine beyond mine never hatched. I'm glad yours did. I'll try again and see if they will hatch with my new incubator.
