Has anyone every used Equine Pine as bedding for button quails? I am wondering if it is safe because I use it for my rabbits and it is cheaper than aspen, and much more absorbent...

I use the Equine Pine Pellets for Cbbq for sure! I have used Yesterday's news in the past..that's pelleted too. It's easier to clean and less clumping on the little feet.

Mine Have Lil Teeny Tiny Water Beds (heated Of Course)

Except For 1 Old Grumpy Pair... They Wanted The Sleep Number Beds That The Head And Feet Sections Can Go Up And Down On...

I use Equine Pine for all of my button quail, except for one bachelor. He has pine flakes because it works better in his setup. All of the coturnix that are on solid bottoms also have Equine Pine (that means all but 4 of the bachelors...)

I don't wet them or break them down, though. Doesn't seem to bother them any.

I don't like to use it for chicks, though. I give them rubber shelf liner (the soft kind, not the slippery kind) and then use pine flakes. I won't give pellets until they are nearly grown. I think the other choices are better for their legs and less likely to cause food confusion.

Too small to eat, but make a good cat treat!

Just kidding, but they sell great if I advertise them as mini- homing pigeons...
