Button Quail Breeders / Owners in Australia?

I'm looking for other Aussies that have these lil cuties? Im having a lot of trouble finding anyone...

Alot of people seem to own them as avary cleaners but no one seems to know where to find breeders.
c'mon Aussies, Show of hands, whose got buttons?!

I just hatched some for a friend's dad - I'm in Sydney. I think here in Oz they are often referred to as King Quail.

Ozzie- Yea i've found we call them, Chinese Painted Quail & King Quail more than Buttons too. Does your friends dad sell them? because im looking for a few more birds and im only down in Canberra...

Pokes79- Cyberquail is really helpful, that was the first website i visited, but there is only one guy listed on there from australia as a breeder.

Actually last I spoke to him, he was thinking of selling some - he has too many. They should be around 3-4 weeks old now ie pretty much fully feathered and ready to go off heat. Are you intending on taking the drive to Sydney to collect them? I'll find out from him if he wants to sell them and if he's sexed them already. I just hatched them for him because his female quail wasn't sitting on the eggs she was laying and he wanted to hatch some and I had the incubator going with some chicken eggs already in there so I just put them in there together with the chicken eggs.

Ozzie- Thatd be great if you could find out if he's selling, i really only want two or three extra birds at the moment, until i build more cages.
If he has nice colours & healthy birds I'd definitly do the 6hr round trip because i seriously CanNot find anyone down this way with Buttons.

If you give me your email address - if my eggs hatch you are most welcome to a pair. I am in Sydneys Western Suburbs - Near Blacktown.
They are great little birds - worth giving a go in an aviary. Just heard you can't keep them with certain types of parrots. I have mine with Canaries and they are doing great.
Remember they do clean up but still need their own food supply.

P.S. don't get them untill they are over 6 weeks old. They don't even try to pair up till then.

P.S.S. also get at least two hens to one cock to stop one bird being continually mated and picked on by the cock.

When keeping one male with more then one female you risk the male and his favorite attacking the lower females. Buttons live in pairs in the wild not groups.
