My pair of button quail just started laying eggs. One a day for the last 4 days. If I leave them in the cage with them will they incubate them themselves?

I have heard that it is rare for a Button quail to brood, but it does happen. From what I've read, most people incubate the eggs their hens lay.

I don't know this first hand, but I'm going to be raising Button quails, so I have been reading up.

Good Luck!

If you keep buttons in a cage as pairs only it is very possible that the hen will set the eggs. Don't move them or anything, when she is ready to set them she will gather them all up. If she lays more than say, 12 or so, then I would go ahead and take them away. Many do set their own eggs, but there are many more that do not.
