Button Quail Color/Sex

Anyone able to tell me what color or sex my button quail are? #1 and #2 are 6 weeks old. #3 I'm pretty sure is male as he's 13 weeks with that little reddish on his tail and no eggs. Doesn't crow though, but I have two other confirmed males.

Feather sexable males will have rusty/red feathers around the vent as well as facial/throat markings.

I thought so. 3 hasn't laid an egg or crowed at 13 weeks old. My other males don't try to mate it either. I know the other two have a but to go. One is making sounds but not a definitive male sound.

I don't know the official names for the colours. They are pretty, though. I rehomed all of my buttons before moving and now I miss them.

They sure fun and I love listening to them. I only have 5 with 2 confirmed males. I have a tendency to hatch a lot of males though.

I noticed that if you don't make sure those girls have plenty of calcium available, their mortality rate is far higher than that of the males. It seems like they need more calcium than coturnix, that's for sure.
