I am planning on getting some button quail and I was wondering, if it is better to start out with eggs, chicks or 6-8 weeks. Sourcing is not a problem, I've found people in my area who I can get them from and someone said they'd give me an incubator.

If u want them running at u like mama mama then i say hatch them specially if u plan to keep even just 1 or 2 as personal pets then i say hatch them i love the feeling that i hatched mine and that its imprinted on me lol if u want them for eggs and don't care if they hate u but are happy and healthy then chicks or older but the experience is worth it to hatch them

The hatching experience is fun but you may have problems if you end up with unbalanced genders or more than you want. Also be aware that they probably will become skittish after the first week regardless of how much you handle them, unless just one hatches alone.

Or if u keep the ones u want as pets separate so they don't get so skittish ? Idk
