Well other than the diet being inadequate for these guys, I think they were hiding sickness, could be salmonella or E. coli. For birds, it can take weeks before symptoms to present itself. If you could feel their keels then that is a sign of a bacterial infection of virus, especially starvation. Feedstore birds sometimes aren't the best quality birds... and store owners sadly do not know how to care for CBBQ very often. I am so sorry you experienced this.

thanks for the input.
i'll check the label for the game crumbles we bought and make sure that's acceptable for them, and sterilize everything before i think about getting anymore. i won't be buying live animals from that feed store anymore. when i'm ready to try again, i'll have birds shipped to me from a good reliable source.
