button quail hatching

I just won an auction for some button quail eggs, do you incubate them the same as chicken eggs? Once they are (hopefully) hatched what kind of food do I start them on? Any help would be appreciated.

They are 16 days to hatch. Stop turning on day 13. Once they hatch ground up high protein gamebird starter for food works best. If it's not the size of cornmeal or so they can starve cause they are very small. They are great and you'll love them!!!!!

I've always used chick starter from Dumor. 24%. I've also never ground or crunched up the crumbles. Day old button quail get along just fine with chick crumbles straight from the bag.

Here are some of my new buttons. I feed them 1/2 chick starter ground up with 1/2 hand rearing mix. They seem to love it.

Buttons and most quail require higher amounts of protein than most chicks starters. I like at least 20% although I go higher.
