Hi. I'm new....I am a science teacher and have recently acquired two young button quail. My students will love the setup in the lab in the fall. Not sure if we have male and female or just females. We were very excited to see a beautiful egg last week! Unfortunately, found it punctured and left in water dish??? Took it out and within a few hours another egg appeared only to meet the same demise! Impressed that they puncture it in order to lift it up into custard bowl. Immediately put a small bird water feeder in that isn't big enough for egg. Any thoughts? Maybe this will correct itself with less water access... Just hope they don't keep destroying eggs. Really liking these little guys!
