My male button quail isn't mating with my other hens but one, they will lean down and offer him to mount then he gets on for a sec then gets off and leaves, why?, he always goes for the older hen he's been paired up with but not really interested in the two new younger girls?

Buttons mostly pick a wife and some times they only want her it happens a lot some people successfully have 1 male with 2 females and the male will either treat them the same treat one as head wife or only pick one from everything i read on here o.o/ sounds like u need two more males for the two new hens so they can be happy or put them together if they get along ? Good luck let us know also when ur hens offer there buts up do they lay there heqds down all steatched out and all that ?

Yes! Button/king quails I guess you could say are more relational and only have one mate whereas some other species it’s not uncommon to have multiple females for the male. My suggestion for you is that if you’re able to move the two females that aren’t being mated out then I would. You could find them both mates or keep them together, your choice.
