Button Quail mutations

You cant always go by the bibs.. I have a proven female, she lays eggs.. And she has a full bib.. I do believe that if a female has a bib she is double factor.. Am I right.. Does that mean she will alway breed her color.. Or just more of her color..

Alot of my females have bibs but they are dark lines around a lighter shade of their own color instead of the males white line. Almost the opposite of what the males have.

Some varieties do have bibs. If I understand properly, females will have creamy bibs and males will have pure white bibs. That's just the varieties that have bibs, which I'm not sure which ones do, but the ivory red breasts definately do, and the whites don't, lol.

Tell me about it. Mine haven't started laying yet, but once they hit that age, I'm going to split the whites up and hope and pray that one crows and one lays an egg! That, or if I get an egg, I may just toss it into the bator to see if it develops...
