Button quail with half of its foot gone!!!!!!!

Hi I have a girl button quail and her back toe has no nail and her right middle toe has half of her foot gone and her right right toe nail is soon going to fall off it would be nice to know why this happening I have a male and he dose not have this problem I would very much like to know why this is happening so thanks for any answers

was she born like that. I'm wondering if a rat was chewing off her foot. It usually happens if they are raised in wire floor pens, anything that sticks thru get eaten off.
