Can you keep buttons and coturnix in the same pen?

Coturnix are far to large to keep with Buttons. Some people have kept a lone female Coturnix with a pair of buttons, but I would recommend you keep the two separate. Also, buttons are more house birds. They are not cold hardy.

i found out the hard way that cothurnix and button quail don't get along. my buttons didn't get seriously hurt, but one little button got some of her feathers plucked out(
even my 2 buttons don't get along. i have them in separate cages.
but every bird has its own personality, so there may some quails that will tolerate another species. i would not leave 2 quail of any kind live together without supervision, until you are sure it will be ok.
