Hi all, new to buttonquail here. This is my second hatch. The first group is doing well. They are about 5 weeks old now, no problems.
Second group is 2 days old. None of them will eat or drink. Two of them have died already. I'm frantic.
Help! What am I doing wrong?

You have to show them how. Scatter food all over the floor so it's around them, then go in with your hand or a model bird and make pecking motions at the food and water, near each one. Dip the beaks of each one into the water, NOT past the nostrils, so they get the idea.

How big are the crumbles? I try for cornmeal size because they are so small, then gradually increase the size as they get bigger. Do you have any other chicks that are maybe a little older? I like to have a "nursemaid" that's about a week older in with newly hatched to teach them how to eat and drink.
