I've bought and sold eggs via USPS for many years w/ varying success.Unfortunately, this year, I don't think I'll be doing either as w/ the new postmaster general things are so slow it's not worth paying for eggs that won't hatch bcz they've been in-transit for 10-15 days.
Last year ,before the new PMG was appointed I paid for priority like I always did and I'd get my eggs delivered or sent in 3 days, even had some 100% hatches from mailed eggs.By Mid-July the new rules were in place and it was taking 10 days+ to get/send eggs. Those are eggs that were to never hatch.I know you take chances getting stuff in the mail, rough handling, excessive heat/cold etc but I usually mange to squeak out at least a few but three batches of eggs from three dif ppl and nothing? Yeah, well, they were in the mail forever.
I'm taking a 6 hr drive this fri to personally pick up eggs cuz I want them to actually hatch, just can't trust the USPS any more...

I have had good experience getting eggs. With express I get them within 3 days, even to Hawaii. Priority in about 5 days. I have some in the incubator right now that arrived in 2 days, and we are talking from the mainland to Hawaii.
That the air cells are often saddled, loose and/or detached by the time they get here is another story, though.:hmm

When was the last time you got some? I used to get things in a timely manner, but not any more. I refuse to ship eggs until it improves, if it ever does.

IKR!!! its craziness i cant believe how behind all the mail is this year and the past one. i have wanted new eggs for my chicken garden but I ordered them in December but they still haven't come
Hmmm.... what is a chicken garden? Also that sounds horrible! I ordered my eggs off of amazon and they take a long time to come. What did you order them off of?

A chicken garden is a garden full of fruits and veggies i feed to my chickens. but most of my chickens have died so I have too much food and not enough chickens to eat it before it spoils.
I used USPS

I have some in the incubator right now that were shipped express and got here in two days. I have some others in the incubator right now that were shipped priority and got here in five days.
So this is a few weeks ago at most.😊
The two day ones got shipped from Washington state which is only just across the ocean maybe that’s why it was so quick. The five day ones were from the Midwest.
Though I do recognize that many people are having issues. I think it depends on where you are shipping from and where you are shipping to; are you close to a major hub is the person receiving the eggs close to a major hub things like that.
