LADIES FIRST CHICKEN COOP DOOR = $200 IN THE TRASH. Door didn't work, won't work.. I'm a friggin FAA licensed A&P mechanic, and I've done every bit of trouble shooting in the world on this piece of crap. Their only Contact / Tech support, someone named "Matt", was responsive for the ordering process, completely non-responsive for the last 2 months (I've repeatedly tried to contact him via phone and email.)
Trouble is, my chicks that arrived in April are almost grown and I can't keep them in the brooder anymore. Can't put them out in the coop either because the door is electronically frozen shut. I've been trying to reach Matt, and the guy has had not said two words since the door finally shipped (which after a month of waiting, I finally messaged him about the order, and the thing suddenly shipped the next day.)

I bought the door because it was reccomended by my coop designer Third Coast Customs, I assumed like the Coop, it was the best of the best. I went step by step with the instructions, and didn't want to stray for the final piece - the auto door. Literally just took $200 and threw it in the trash. Although I could/should have already bought another door, today was my last ditch effort to give Matt the opportunity to do whats right - and not be a piece of s*%t internet scam artist. I don't care what his excuse is, if you can't handle your business - don't do it. You'll wind up in court - or at best, in rage posts all over the internet like this one.

I SHOULD HAVE SEEN THIS SOONER - The only pay options is through Pay Pal smh...

I went to site, and read their details. Looks like 30 day return time.
I know that any product ,, even those intended to land on the moon, can fail.
The solar powered things, I am not a fan of. That solar panel is tiny BTW. I do understand that it powers/charges a few nicad batteries,

I have an Ador1, since 2017. It still is going strong. Change out a 6 volt lantern style battery every year. If I recall correctly, I paid about $220 in 2017.
It is slightly more now,, but if I would need a replacement, I would opt for same.
I thought that Paypal had a purchase protection guarantee in their agreement. Maybe things have changed. I still use Paypal for all my online payments, that accept that type of payment.
I have no quarrel with Paypal.
Sorry you ended up loosing on your door purchase.:(

WISHNG YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and:welcome

What ended up happening? I had a problem with mine in April and Matt was quite responsive at the time. We were able to trouble shoot the problem and all was well until a couple days ago when the problem recurred and the solution from last time didn't work.

Anyway, I'm wondering what I'm in for.

UPDATE: So, after months of attempting to reach Matt - and posting this, he finally responded - kind of. He wanted pictures of what was going on, but by that point my wife was able to do what I was not lol. She Googled until she could Google no more, and she found a video from another customer - who was doing a review. Our relay switch for the door was installed on the wrong side of the contact. He finally responded to her after we sent him the pictures, and we had already repaired it on our own. Extremely frustrating for a $200 purchase that didn't work for at all, and couldn't get feedback at all from Matt for MONTHS - until we went on a "review tour" online. Sad thing is, it actually seems like a very well build device, with quality metal parts - but the fact that it came completely inop, and we literally got no help fixing it, I couldn't recommend this product to anyone else. Who knows what issue could arise on the next purchase.

It took weeks and I had to remind Matt after he forgot to send a replacement part, but my chicken door is working again. To be fair, I could have been more active in reminding him, but it still took almost a month. The door works well now and i want to love it. I've got a friend who has had one over three years and the only problem he ever had was a blown fuse at around the three year mark. (Think $1 part that is a trifling matter to swap out).

Anyway, I'll try to remember to come back and provide an update in a few months.
