Buying a coop (not building)

I live in Texas and will have two hens, and I’m hoping to just buy a coop (assembly is okay). I’ve looked at coops online but really not sure what I need or what brands are reputable, etc. Any advice?

I wont be able to build a coop, just not an option right so out-of-the-box it is :)
The prefab ones that they sell for a few hundred bucks are usually pretty flimsy, but I suppose you could add more screws as it falls apart. I would suggest buying one that says it is for 6 to 8 chickens and maybe it will work for two.

Where about in Texas?

Hi, I might be a little late to this discussion but I have 7 coops. I built my first one and through that adventure learned that I have not business using power tools and nearly killed my self several times. So when I wanted more chickens I started to take a look at prefab coops.

To my surprise they hold up really well. I do make adjustments and coat them with a good outdoor paint and water seal but they have held up. I know that I am a small voice on this site but I love prefab coops and think that with some care they can make great homes for your girls.

Here is my current chicken yard. I have 7 coops, 6 are prefabs.

I will also link my blog, I have a post that I did on prefab coops that might be helpful. Like I said, I might be a bit late on this post but just incase I wanted to chime in.
