I am redoing my kitchen and tomorrow I am going shopping for appliances. I am trying to decide on what I want for the kitchen sink. Meaning whether I want a double or a single sink. Any input would be appreciated. As it is now, I am likely to bring home the first sink I trip over in the appliance store.

depends what you will do

my fav sink is a double pan with double drainage trays

but my kitchen can only accommodate a single pan single drain tray

but my mum likes the extra deep double pan single drain tray

which she has

work out how you will use it and where it will be positioned and decide based on that what will be best suited

When we remodeled the kitchen we put in a deep
9 inch double stainless bowl. Nice sink.

But we put more into the faucet than the sink. Really
cool thing, has a high arch to it. 18 inches from the
faucet to the bottom of the sink. You can get almost
anything in that sink.

How wide is your sink? I do have a faucet like you described.

Edge to edge....

24 inches front to rear
36 inches side to side.

I had to wait for it to come in.

Has two of those sprayer things on it
(don't know what they're actually called)
Cold water sprayer on the right, hot water
sprayer on the left.

Also if you are on a sewer line and have a garbage disposal (they are bad for septic systems) they have some with a very shallow middle pan that you pour your stuff down for the disposal so you can run it and not have to wait to do it while doing dishes in both other pans. also I think that would be useful for cooking large hoiliday/family gatering meals, because you could be washing and rinseing the preperation dishes/bowls/pots/pans and have the small pan available to rinse off veggies, and drain water from pasta, etc..
