Buying and selling feedback...

I do so wish there was a way to give feedback, other than the old feedback system, when you buy from someone, but you didn't win it in an auction.

This is often the case with me, as I get eggs from someone that I got eggs from before, and I was happy with, and I PM them.

I buy more often than I sell, and I really try to be a good buyer also, leaving feedback right away, and paying promptly, and trying to be specific about what I want, so I wouldn't mind a way for me to GET good feedback, also!

The new system will accommodate this. Whenever you are going to buy from someone you purchased from in the past just have the seller create a new listing and then you can buy that item and both leave feedback.

Will this not cause us to have multiple postings and use up all of our 5 or 20 listings for the month? Please, a little more info. I have several people that want to leave feedback and cant because they did not win an auction, just bought eggs outright. Thanks.

While not officially supported by us anymore, people can leave feedback using the old feedback system: (see the bottom of this post )

If feedback is desired in the new system, it must be tied to an actual listing. This is the same process as most auction / selling systems out there.

Ummm....I did a creative thing to accomodate this earlier this week. I created a fake 'buy it now' sale for 1000.00 eggs, then the 'old' buyer bought them and we used the 'fake' auction for real feedback.

Basically it means we aren't touching the old feedback system.

If there are any problems, errors, questions, mistakes, updates, etc. we won't be taking those requests.

It really isn't reliable or trustworthy since anybody could submit good or bad information about themselves or anybody else as many times as they want. This is one of the main reasons why we added the new BSA system and require everyone that is selling to use it. It is MUCH harder to fake feedback in the new system.

So the definition of "support" that Nifty used is the same as the one used in the phrase "tech support."

There won't be any "tech support" by the Staff of the old system.

Unfortunately it i much harder to receive feedback too, lol. If you do an auction then only the person who wins can leave feedback. Anyone who PM's you and gets eggs outside of that can't. If I do a buy it now price, then only one person can buy and leave feedback there too. And if I list each set of eggs seperately, I will run out of listings for the month. Not sure that there is anything you can do, just a tough situation. I do understand that the other was not reliable. The first list where everyone sent the feedback to you guys worked the best and it was very basic, and took alot of you guys time I am sure. Not sure what if anything can be done?

Well, anyway, as a volunteer I'm continuing to alphabetize the old system folks so it's still there and folks are still leaving feedback there and thanks so much Nifty that you have allowed it to stay open, as I've had purchases off the new system, but since I asked them to leave it open (the posting), they cannot leave feedback anything there.. It also gives us a history glance for BYCers..I would have used my 20 up long ago, had I not had gracious members who didn't hit the buy it now button....

I do hope soon we will have a solution to the over 20 posts.... Thanks Rob,Terri and all BYC moderators for all you do for us!
