Do you guys think it will work if I just buy fertile eggs online and then once they arrive, have my hen sit on it? Will she even sit on eggs that are not her own?

Well, she hasn't shown any signs of wanting to sit in her nest and tend to it..... I was just curious if the method of buying eggs online and having your hen sit will work, just in case one day I would like to try that route. For now I'm hoping she lays eggs soon, previous owner told me she's close to being due a clutch of eggs, but who knows, either way my male now has been doing the dirty deed so we shall see if there will be eggs.If she's broody, She should. How long has she been broody?
But do you think once her first egg drops, her instincts will kick in and she will start to sit? Right now I have the nesting box set up and everything but I haven't seen her show much interest in it.I'm sorry, but if your hen is not broody to begin with, she is not going to brood a clutch of eggs. A hen doesn't know the difference be a fertilized and unfertilized egg.
