Buying Fertilized Eggs

What are you specifically looking for? Show quality, hatchery quality, or backyard flock eggs? I'll assume you are in the USA. My preference would be somebody I could drive to pick up the eggs as opposed to shipping them, if possible.

That's a good list above. I'd add chatting with your county extension office to see if they have some local suggestions, finding your state thread in the "Where am I? Where are you!" section if this forum and chat with your neighbors, or go to the "Buy-Sell-Trade" section of this forum and post an ad.

Is there a chicken show associated with your county fair? If so, find out who is in charge and see if they can help you. Or go to a chicken show and chat with the exhibiters. Some hatcheries may sell hatching eggs. Go to the American Poultry Association website and identify breeders of your preferred breed. Can you find a chicken swap in your area? That's where people gather to buy, sell, or trade chickens.

Good luck.

Thanks, backyard flocks.
